St. Gertrude versatile, reversible, one-of-a-kind feline necklace. 2010
In celebration of St. Gertrude's Day (March 17 - yes the same day as St. Patrick), we are offering this opportunity to purchase or bid-on this one-of-a-kind, handcrafted, versatile piece. This necklace/pendant can be worn in a variety of ways: as a long necklace with reversible pendant attached by sterling hooks with image in front); or as a shorter necklace/choker/or lariat, doubled with pendant; or without the pendant with only the removable small sterling cat attached; or with the reversible pendant's reverse side showing with sterling sitting cat; or the pendant can be removed from the sterling hooks and worn with any chain or cord, or...even more ways.

The necklace incorporates glass and sterling felines, in a variety of colors and shapes, with seed beads of luminous cobalt blue and seafoam. St. Gertrude is visible through the domed glass pendant that reverses to a metallic crackle finish featuring a sitting sterling cat bail (image 2). All other components are sterling, including the tiny sterling cat holding a ball of yarn.

Lapis beads on knotted cord (18") complement the colors in the image which is cold-enameled on one side of a ginger-cat-colored agate. On the reverse, an antique brass kitten bats at a garnet "ball."
